| Energy Analysis and Simulation for Sustainable Design Using BIM Models | |
| Description In today’s world, technology is playing an increasingly large role in how we live, work and communicate. It can be challenging to keep track of which technological tools at our disposal can assist us in meeting our needs and achieving our goals. Similarly, with a new premium placed on sustainable design strategies, we need to understand what technological tools are available to help us efficiently create more sustainable buildings and support a greener lifestyle. Autodesk Ecotect Analysis and Green Building Studio offer powerful sets of environmental analysis tools that can help you make more informed sustainable design decisions in minutes. Take advantage of what Building Information Modeling (BIM) has to offer and learn how to efficiently use your Revit model in Ecotect and Green Building Studio to produce meaningful data about your green building project displayed in a clear, vibrant, graphical format. The primary objective of this course is to learn how to use a Revit model as the foundation for environmental analysis in Ecotect and Green Building Studio. Class participants will work with an existing model in Revit and learn best practices for successfully exporting its geometry into Ecotect Analysis and Green Building Studio. We will then explore some of Ecotect and Green Building Studio’s functionality by performing whole building energy analysis, daylighting, site, and sun/shadow calculations. |
